Amazing Day of Learning
There was some fantastic learning occurring for Gladstone School students today. Our seniors took part in the amazing opportunity to plant trees at Kourarau Dam and stream. This involved local farmers, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Iwi and Enviro School facilitators all teaching the students about this special project and local place of significance. The Y5 to Y8 students, their teachers and wonderful parent helpers planted close to 2,000 trees today.
Today Room 6 were concentrating hard at the Wairarapa Chess Tournament, held at Masterton Intermediate School. The Room 6 students absolutely showed other school how Gladstone School can 'Shine', both with their fabulous behaviour and their amazing chess skills. Our students being Y3 & Y4 were younger than the other teams who were mainly Y5 & Y6. One Gladstone team was placed runner up to the overall winners. What an outstanding result.
