Kia ora koutou katoa.
A big welcome to our school whanau, students and teachers. I am really looking forward to working with you all throughout 2016.
There are so many fantastic experiences coming up this term at Gladstone School and we are excited about sharing those with you.
Our Welcome Back Assembly will be held at 9.10am on the 1st February 2016, in the school hall - all welcome.
As you will have been advised by class teachers we have had a move around of our classrooms. This is to accommodate our school wide direction towards Modern Learning Practices and in preparation for the new building work to occur later in the year, when our senior classes will move into a new modern learning environment. The BOT will keep you posted about this building work when the planning and contracts are actually confirmed by the Ministry of Education.
If you have not seen the class stationery lists already they can be found on the home page of the school website. Class teachers will be issuing their class stationery on Day 1 of term for those who do not have their stationery with them. This will then get loaded on to school family accounts that are sent out at the end of term.
Classes will be swimming from Day 1 of term if there are enough students in the class who bring their togs along.
Our first school newsletter will be published on Thursday and it will be jam packed with information, so please do take the time to read it so that you are well informed about the school events coming up.
We are really looking forward to launching our new Gladstone School app on February 11th at 5pm. This will take place just before the Gladstone School Community Hangi at 6pm, which everyone is invited to. This gathering is a great way to get to meet and welcome new families, students and teachers.
All the best for the New Year and please do contact us if you have any questions or require further information.
Kind regards
